GT-Grid

Gradient Tensor Gridding

Higher Resolution - Greater Accuracy - Lower Cost

The GT-GRID process combines measured horizontal gradient with total field to produce a grid that is constrained by all three measurements.  This integration of the gradient information into the gridding process improves the resolution and accuracy of the magnetic map.

The example below is taken from Ontario Geological Survey Magnetic Datset 1040 of the Kapuskasing area in Northern Ontario. This illustration presents the total field and calculated vertical gradient maps as published by the OGS on the left together with their GT-GRID counterparts on the right.
